Digital Radiography Testing

Flat Panel Detector (FPD), also known as digital detector arrays (DDAs) provide high-quality digital images compared to other imaging devices. FPD is a modern alternative to X-ray film in radiographic testing of any objects. Image is saved in digital format by DDA.

They can have a better signal-to-noise ratio and improved dynamic range, which, in turn, provide high sensitivity for radiographic applications. FPD’s are very useful for corrosion monitoring in various applications, where X-ray film can not be used (e.g., pipes with product, heat insulated pipes,corrosion monitoring under pipe supports).

Traditional industrial radiographic testing of pipelines and tanks, using X-ray film or computed radiography, suffers from drawbacks like lengthy exposure and processing times, as well as reliance on consumable materials, due to the need for curved imaging surfaces.

However, the Flexible Detector is a system designed to eliminate image distortion of curved control objects, which is believed to be the biggest limitation of ordinary digital flat panel detectors. It meets the maximum needs of the NDT market professionals.
